Elena is an urban researcher and facilitator with a focus on public spaces, policy, and collaborative design. She has partnered with policy think tanks and government agencies in Mexico City and across Latin America, and now contributes her expertise to multidisciplinary research and placemaking initiatives in the UK and internationally. Her work centers on co-design, interdisciplinary research, and community engagement strategies.

At The Place Bureau, Elena has contributed to research publications like Natural Futures, exploring the intersection of placemaking, ecology, and the future. She has facilitated collaborative design workshops for the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority and developed community engagement strategies for various clients.

Elena holds an MSc in City Design and Social Science from the London School of Economics and a degree in International Relations with a specialisation in Political Science from Mexico’s Autonomous Institute of Technology.
